We’re looking for a Business Developer to help us find the right brands and get conversations started.
This is not a corporate sales role and not a hard-closing position. Your main responsibility is to identify good-fit prospects and get us on qualified calls, where we handle the deeper technical discussion and closing.
Spell&Sell is a Shopify-focused e-commerce studio and an extension arm of Sogody. We build custom Shopify and Headless storefronts for brands that have outgrown standard themes and plugin-heavy setups. Our work is performance-driven, conversion-focused, and technically solid.
We already have the delivery side covered. What we’re missing is deal flow.
Lead Research & Outreach
Identify D2C brands using Shopify that could benefit from custom development or Headless architecture.
Initial Conversations
Run first calls with founders or e-commerce leads to understand their setup, challenges, and goals.
Pre-Sales Qualification
Explain at a high level what we do, why brands move beyond themes, and assess whether there’s a real opportunity.
Calendar Ownership
Aim to consistently book qualified calls for our team.
Shopify / E-commerce Familiarity
You understand how Shopify works, what themes and apps are, and why performance and flexibility eventually become problems.
Comfort Talking to Founders
You can speak clearly, ask good questions, and guide a conversation without overselling.
Self-Directed
You’re comfortable working independently and managing your own outreach and follow-ups.
Sales Curiosity (Not Aggression)
This role is about opening doors and setting up the right conversations, not pushing deals at all costs.
Competitive base salary
Commission per qualified call
Additional commission tied to closed deals
